About Us
In the fall of 2021, Megan Briggs and Andrew Calabrese collaborated to form BriggsBreese Productions. The first show they decided to produce was Haunt Your House, featuring three evenings of spooky stories, short plays, poems, and songs which aired online leading up to Halloween. Not only entertainment for folks who were still celebrating safely at home, it was an opportunity for Bay Area theatre artists to connect and work as a community.
Cooking, Stage Left! is the second work to come from BriggsBreese. Billed as a cooking show, it’s main goal is to provide joy and connection. The plan was always to film and edit some episodes to air online, then live stream episodes with viewer interaction and EVENTUALLY have a live in-person, in-theater experience. Our inclusion in the 2022 San Francisco Fringe Festival sped up that process, and we were so excited to be there!
As an actor, Andrew has worked with Left Coast Theatre Co., Theatre Rhino, Second Wind Productions, New Conservatory, Impact Theatre, Shotgun Players, Custom Made, the Breadbox and No Nude Men. Andrew is one half of the comedy quartet Shandyland. He was a founding member of Precarious Theatre Ensemble, which developed new works and created the popular Kitchen Series at Brava Theater. When not onstage, he can be found cooking up a storm or just chilling on the couch with husband Aaron and pupster Hazel in Oakland.
Megan is a Bay Area native and has worked as an actor and director since she graduated cum laude from the University of the Pacific with a BA in Theatre Arts. She has collaborated with numerous theatre companies, including Custom Made Theatre Co., Town Hall Theatre, Exit Theatre, SF Olympians Festival, Left Coast Theatre Co., No Nude Men, and TheatreFIRST. She has also studied with the world renowned Shakespeare & Co. in Lenox, MA, and loves to talk about Shakespeare whenever the opportunity arises. When not performing, she enjoys quilting, spending quality time with family and friends, and working in the garden. www.meganbriggs.com
